Paint Correction Process

Paint Correction

Paint Correction is the process of mechanically polishing cars paint to remove surface imperfections such as swirl marks, scratches, oxidization and damage caused by birdlime or chemical fallout. This involves removing the top layer of clearcoat usually only between one and 3 microns is require to be removed to achieve Paint Correction. We achieve these results by wet sanding, compounding, and polishing your vehicles finish, thus removing scratches, buffer trails, swirl marks, oxidation and holograms. These techniques level and refinish the surface of your vehicles paint with amazing clarity and gloss.

Each time you wash your car you will cause micro marks in your paintwork and over time these marks will gradually get worse and appear as swirls. Most of these swirl marks are caused by poor washing techniques or an automatic car wash, even using a sponge to wash your car plays a big part in causing marks on the surface of paintwork. These marks on the surface are actually diffracting the light so you are not seeing the true colour of your paint.

With many years of Paint Correcting experience and understanding the different types of paint used on new and old cars. We are able to assess the existing condition of your vehicles paint, and then evaluate any problems which may occur before the correction work begins.
